First edition of the earliest historical survey of diseases of the digestive system and its pathology. In the first part, the author records every imaginable symptom and possible cause of stomach pain such as anorexia, convulsions, arthritis, tumours, ulcers, cancer, and much more. The second part deals with the drugs used for remedies of the various ailments. Trnka von Krzowitz (1739-91) of Budapest was a physician and professor of anatomy and pathology. He enjoyed a fine reputation as a keen observer, erudite physician, and gifted writer of medical histories.
