First American edition. All but the first chapter consists of a series of revised talks that were given by Laing between 1967-68. Discussing the inter-workings of families, the first chapter was originally intended for psychoanalysts, the second to social workers, and the third to psychiatrists. The remaining chapters consist of five talks that were given on Canadian Radio.
