The first work is divided into three parts, consisting of a brief essay detailing the origin of the Royal Literary and Scientific Institution of Bath, a paper (originally given in 1826) on Bath’s connection to the literary and scientific achievements of England, and separate annotations to that paper. The second work provides a wonderful overview of the chief writers and poets associated with Bath (of which there were many), including major names like Jane Austen, Alexander Pope, and Sir Walter Scott. It includes an author index for easy reference.
