Later edition. Maud Howe [Elliot] (1854-1948) won the 1916 Pulitzer Prize, together with her co-author/sister Laura E. Richards, for their biography of their mother, Julia Ward Howe. The present work is a charming travelogue of the author’s time in Rome and the surrounding area.
