First edition. Scottish journalist and author William Fraser Rae (1835-1905) celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the business of travel agents Thomas Cook & Son. The author describes the procedures and methods of the well-known agency, which began in 1841 solely traveling the twelve miles from Leicester to Loughborough. Fifty years later, in 1891, they were worldwide.
