This work includes the author’s many observations on the politics, governments, resources, religions, social conditions and the people of Mexico during the late nineteenth century. The wonderful illustrations are by the author.
Smith (1838-1915) was an American author, artist and engineer, a descendant of Francis Hopkinson, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. He built the foundation for the Statue of Liberty.
