First edition, second issue, the first practicably obtainable issue of the original sheets, comprising the sheets of the suppressed 1865 first printing with the Appleton cancel title page. “This issue consisted of 1000 copies, bound in England, with the new tipped-in title-page printed at the Clarendon Press, Oxford ... Dodgson authorized the sale to America (after consulting Tenniel) on 10 Apr. 1865.”
