Greenbrae, California: Produced by hand at the Allen Press, 1985. Folio. 150 pp. FIRST EDITION. With 48 woodcuts, large hand-colored initial at the beginning of each book. Printed on Barcham Green all-rag paper and specially bound by Gale Herrick in full blue morocco with red, brown, yellow and orange leather onlays of zodiac signs, based on those designed by Rudolph Koch for The book of signs (London, 1930). Endpapers with pictorial paper onlays from the Ages of man. Tipped in is a binder’s note, signed by Gale Herrick, in which the binding process is explained. Preserved in a natural linen clapshell slipcase with paper label. Item #19317
