First edition. Revealing biographies of senior English functionaries. The first (and majority) section contains the biography of Earl Edward Hyde of Clarendon. The work is often attributed to historian John Oldmixon.
Hyde (1609-1674) was the first Earl of Clarendon, a historian who wrote The History of the Rebellion and Civil Wars in England (1717) and The History of Rebellion and Civil War in Ireland (1720).
