It was edited and enlarged from the author's Untersuchungen uber einige Ursachen der Saftenbewegung im thierischen organismus of the same year by Gregory, professor of chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. This paper on animal metabolism concerns the movement of fluids through the organism and is probably one of Liebig's rarer treatises.
