First edition. Gives a brief historical sketch of Fort Meigs, including geographical information. The Seige of Fort Meigs, during the War of 1812, was considered an important American victory, and a turning point in the war on the northwest frontier.

Averill (fl. 1886) was a sergeant in the Ohio 21st Infantry.
